A few weeks back, the team over at Debenhams got in touch and asked if I’d get involved in a little collab to celebrate summer. They wanted me to put together an outfit that represented my summer style - this year I have been wearing two different styles.
I have been loving a longer line, baggy t-shirt and pair of casual shorts for comfy days, but I have also been trying to dress a little smarter by wearing smarter shorts and light shirts to combat the sweat-inducing weather that is apparently called ‘summer’.
I really love the bowling shirt trend that has taken off this summer, they are super comfortable and lightweight and I think they look great both dressed up or more casual. For that reason, I decided to pick up a new bowling shirt from Patrick Grant’s exclusive range with Debenhams. The Hammond & Co collection is definitely for the more sartorial look, they have a great range of tailoring pieces for that well thought-out look. I picked up the Chevron print Bowling Shirt which I absolutely love, it’s made from a super soft and light viscose which is perfect for sunny warm days…which we’ve surprisingly had a lot of lately! You can pick this shirt up here for £40.
I decided on some navy tailored shorts from the Red Herring collection. I’m a pretty slim guy so for me I like things to be a bit more slim fitting on my legs - anything too baggy and it just elongates me and swamps me. These shorts are a great fit, I decided to roll them up, it made them fit slightly better and also gave me the length of short that I like to wear. You can pick these shorts up for £18 here.
It’s a great outfit for warmer days, and it’s also great for day-to-night wear if you’re on holiday, perfectly cool during the day and smart-casual looking for a dinner or night out.
