I’m not one for big seasonal wardrobe changes, usually the only variation between what I wear in winter and summer is a lighter coat (that’s Belfast weather for you). But I do get a little down when we get to the tired end of summer.
With most of the high street stores having cleared their high-summer stock, the remnants and pre-autumn collections don’t really inspire or impress. Shorts and linens have a very brief window of opportunity and we haven’t hit the true autumn weather to warrant the wool.
I’ve pulled my top 3 mid-season must-haves to help refresh your wardrobe and carry you comfortably into autumn.
Return Of The Mac
There is no more quintessentially cool coat for a man than the classic mac. Rather than going for the full length, this cropped version from Topman will still work with your suit, but you can wear it off duty too. (Click Here to shop)
Pull On Your Boots
We’re sadly moving from plimsole and Converse appropriate weather so pick up a pair of decent boots. These chukka boots from River Island will work with jeans or chinos and are the right balance of casual and formal. (Click Here to shop)
With the unpredictable weather, wool is not your friend as we move from wet to muggy to sticky on hourly rotation. This knitted jacket from ZARA is a cotton blend and is great for layering. (Click Here to shop)
What do you do when you are trapped in style limbo?
