The Cocktail Club took a quick break last week for my trip into the city but as promised, it’s back! I have had a bit of a cold lately and have been chugging OJ like there’s no tomorrow, it’s definitely fuelled my love for orange drinks so thought this week i’d give the ever-popular Screwdriver a go but give my own little twist on it.
The Screwdriver is a vodka and orange cocktail mix and typically that is all that is in it, however I have added another orangey twist on it so for this recipe you’ll need the following…
- Standard non-flavoured vodka, I used Cîroc
- Orange Juice, fresh pressed or carton juice
- Triple Sec
Step 1 - Fill your glass with ice and let it chill the whole glass. Over the ice add 1 jigger of your chosen vodka…obviously if you like your drinks brain-blowingly strong then add some more.
Step 2 - Add in a half a jigger of Triple Sec, any more and the taste can be a little overpowering as it has quite a distinctly orange flavour.
Step 3 - Top the glass up with your fresh orange juice, make sure the juice you add is cold and taste test it to get the strength just right.
This drink is super fresh, I am a big fan of orange drinks so this is high up on my list of chosen cocktails. Give it a go at home and let me know how it goes for you!
