I recently received an email from the folks over at Hyundai asking if they could send me a car to test out for a week. My week with the IONIQ has just come to an end so I thought I’d get a post together letting you know the good and bad of Hyundai’s new hybrid model.Read More
For around a year now I have sworn by Tom Ford’s grooming range, using multiple products on a daily basis. However, recently I found that for some reason my skin had changed and the products were leaving me feeling like a total oil slick - it was time for a change.
I put out a call on Twitter for suggestions and you guys came through! My mate, and fellow blogger Robbie suggested I gave Kiehl’s a try, after hearing him rave about them I thought it was time to give them a go and see how they work for me. I believe if you go into a Kiehl’s store you can get a full consultation in which they tell you what products you should use for your skin type. Sadly we don't have a Kiehl’s anywhere near where I live, so I thought I’d risk it and give a few products a try, I picked them all up from House of Fraser. I obviously love them, which is why I thought I would let you know which products I have been using over the past few weeks. Here’s how my current skincare routine stands…
The first step goes one of two ways, either wash or scrub. Every other day I use a scub on my face to give it just a bit of a deeper clean, the rest of the week I use a daily wash. Currently the scrub I am using is the Kiehl’s Exfoliating Cleanser, it’s from their Age Defence range and gives you a ‘refreshed and younger looking appearance’ so I must look about 3 months old once I’ve used it. The wash I am using is from their Facial Fuel range - the Energising Face Wash is a gel cleanser that I tend to use in the mornings. It leaves you feeling fresh and ready to start the day, it also smells pretty good too!
After cleansing my face, I then use toner - currently I am using the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner. I decided to choose the oil-free one as I have quite combination skin, so I didn’t want to end up with a mirror-like forehead from the oil. I’ve been really impressed with it, it leaves my face feeling tight and fresh.
Once the toner has dried nicely on my face I use the Eye Alert cream. it’s a really nice thick gel that helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles - it’s super refreshing, but I tend to only really use it in the mornings as I find it helps to wake me up a bit easier (only a bit). I also use the Facial Fuel No-Shine Lip Balm - it’s great for keeping your lips from drying out, but also won’t make it look like you’ve put lip gloss on, it’s also got a super fresh mint flavour.
The final step of my daily routine is the super-famous Ultra Facial Cream - it now comes with Factor 30 which is massively important to wear on your face every day, and is a nice thick day cream moisturiser. I think most people that use Kiehl’s use the Ultra Facial Cream, it’s a 24-hour moisturiser that doesn't sit heavy on the skin at all, I would highly recommend it!
So far I am loving the Kiehl’s products, they work a treat on my skin and don't cost a tonne either. Big thanks to Robbie and everyone else that recommended I check out the Kiehl’s brand, if you haven't already I would highly suggest checking them out!

This latest blog post has definitely been a long time in the making! If you missed it, my little old blog turned THREE just a couple of weeks back. My old friends at Topman asked if we could team up to celebrate an awesome three years of blogging, and also offer one of my fantastic readers a little gift by way of celebration!
We have teamed up on three different looks, each one is totally unique and this look is look number one! For look number 1 we wanted to achieve a retro-inspired college look.
I love autumn, fallen leaves and cosy weekends are an absolute must, and I love getting my jumpers out, too! The jumper I am wearing under my bomber jacket is just a really simple panel knit. It’s quite lightweight so perfect for early autumn but likewise, as the days get colder you can easily whack a plain tee on underneath for an extra layer of warmth. The white and grey on this jumper mean it’ll go with pretty much anything, I think it looks great with the bomber. It’s also a pretty popular one, it’s currently out of stock in all sizes so keep your eyes peeled here for if it gets restocked!
Next up let’s talk about the bomber, this is currently my favourite item of clothing, I am wearing it constantly because it is so warm and looks great, too. I picked up the Badged MA1 Bomber Jacket in the navy as I thought it went better with this look, but it is also available in khaki, too. The badged detailing adds a really retro look and the puffed out bomber styling not only means it is really warm for this time of year, but it also adds a bit more retro style to it. I think not only does this look great, but it’s really practical, too. It’s super lightweight to hold and is the perfect kind of thing to take for a continental getaway this autumn because it packs down quite small, too. It’s well worth checking out and is a real coop at £65, check it out here.
Now, if you’re an avid reader of my blog, you’ll know the only jeans I ever actually wear are the Topman spray-on skinny fit. This time around, though, we decided I would try a different fit, stretch skinny. I am always super skeptical but I knew I was in safe hands with Topman as I pretty much love most of the product they stock anyway. The Black Overdyed Stretch Skinny Jeans that I am wearing might just be my new favourite jeans, they are so comfortable and that little bit of stretch is great for when you’re sitting down, I have to say I am really impressed by them. I mainly wear black jeans so I would say these are a really good addition to my collection, especially as so many of my old comfy jeans are in desperate need of replacement!! These are available here for £38, for the price they are great quality and if they’re like my other Topman jeans, will last for absolutely years!
Finally the shoes. It’s been an autumn staple of mine for the past few years to have a good sturdy pair of boots, last year’s were from Office, and this year’s are a pair of suede Chelsea’s from Topman. I love everything about these boots, the cut isn't so high that your jeans get all bunched up which is never a good look, the fit is quite slim and comfortable on my foot and getting them on and off is a piece of cake. I’d recommend giving them a spray with some suede protector so you don't end up with scuffed grubby boots. I actually think these are great value at £55, I have paid more for boots in the past that have been much worse quality, I love the soft suede on these, check them out here.
Topman have some great stuff in their autumnal collections that are well worth checking out!
Competition time now…let me know what you’re going to be wearing this fall by sending me a pic of your favourite item from topman.com on Twitter using #MyFallLook and you could win £100 to spend online and in store! Don’t forget to also follow @ImSamSquire and @Topman for all the latest updates! Good luck!!
Oliver Cheshire is owning the menswear scene right now, there's not a single FROW he hasn't graced and is a hot favourite for mens lifestyle mags. You probably know him as the face of M&S but I wanted to delve deeper in to Oli's style, inspiration and top tips for you aspiring models. I caught up with Oliver to get an update on what he's up to right now.
How would you best describe your overall look?
My style is a variety of lots of different things. I love the preppy look, but I still have a soft spot for leather jackets and rock 'n' roll Chelsea boots with black jeans. At the moment bomber jackets are everywhere and I love them, I wore one to the Brits recently, I think you can wear them with almost anything. I also grew up around a lot of sportswear-based fashion which is massively on trend and wearable, as well as very functional in today's fast paced society.
What do you think it takes to become a successful model?
You need to feel comfortable with yourself and the way you look in front of the camera, you also need to be able to listen and take direction well. Personality plays a big part too, and obviously you need to keep in shape, you don’t want to be too slim or too muscly as your body and face are your tools. I also think determination and resilience are also key, it can take a lot of knock backs and no’s before you finally get your break, and you can’t ever give up.
How long does it take you to get ready for a red carpet appearance, what’s the process?
It takes me about 30 minutes to get ready that's including the shower hair and moisturiser. The thing that takes the longest is picking my outfit and making sure it is tailored to perfection. The key to grooming in my eyes is less is more, find what hairstyle suits you and find creams that suit your skin and stick to them.
Have you ever had a style disaster? Tell me about it…
Sometimes I look back at shirts I've worn in the past and think Oh No what was I thinking when they're too loud. Also I've had a few style disasters when I've tried to pull off trends and they haven't really worked for me or they were just awful in the first place but I thought they were cool at the time.
Who is your ultimate style icon?
David Beckham has always been a style icon of mine. I was a 90s kid and when I was younger he was everywhere. He took risks with his fashion and that is something I loved, he wasn’t scared to try new things and he managed to set trends at the same time. Now he is older he knows what suits him and he sticks to it.
What would you say is a must-have style essential that every man should own?
I think everyman should own a good quality white crew neck t-shirt because it will go with everything you own. It has to be high quality cotton though, so it feels good against your skin and doesn’t get ruined in the washing machine.
What is the one trend you’d never rock?
Being on photo shoots, I've pretty much been dressed in most trends, but there are a few I personally wouldn't dress myself in for days out, such as, socks and sandals or flared trousers. But hey, never say never.
What does casual style look like in the world of Cheshire?
I love casualwear, there has been such a lean towards the smart casual trend recently with sports luxe and athleisure trends. I love to mix casual pieces with something more formal – i.e. mixing a tracksuit with a smart pea coat or a tux with a pair of trainers. Autograph menswear is based around smart casual dressing, with a big sports luxe influence. In the summer collection short suits are introduced to create a new look with a focus on style, texture and detail.
What’s your one ultimate style tip for men the world over to help them look photoshoot ready?
The fit of the clothes is key on any photoshoot, they are often pinned back by a stylist. It's also a good idea to get a good night’s sleep before your shoot so you don't have puffy eyes on set.
What’s your all-time favourite piece from Marks & Spencer’s Autograph collections?
My all-time favourite piece is the Autograph black wool and leather bomber jacket. It is the perfect transitional, layering piece; on colder days I wear it with a roll neck jumper and once it warms up I will style it over a casual crew neck t-shirt.
The new M&S Autograph summer 2016 collection is available online and in stores now. I personally want everything...you can shop the collection by clicking here!
So, you’re more of a Christmas Eve panic buyer than a super organised ‘Oh I do all my shopping in August to get the best damn deals around’ - that’s okay, bro…before you go rushing off to Tesco to buy the first DVD in sight, take a look at my last minute giftspiration. I’ve got you covered, bro.
A few weeks back I managed to be one of the first to get my hands on the New Apple TV. The fourth generation features a completely reconfigured system. A new operating system in tvOS see’s Apps take centre stage and not to mention the new remote, the Siri remote - chat, swipe and click your way through the best movies, shows, games and so much more.
So, should you buy one? I personally think it would make a pretty awesome present, it isn't like you’re gifting someone Sky TV - one of those awkward ‘we bought you it and signed you up to £30 a month’ gifts. Apple TV is free, you simply pay as you want, films, music, TV shows, apps and games are all available, some are free and some are paid so it’s completely in the users hands.
The Siri remote is pretty damn awesome, mid-way through a film press and hold the Siri button and ask it questions such as ‘who is she’ to find out the list of actors in the film or even more complex questions like ‘what did he just say?’ and Siri will wind it back a few seconds to play it again, never be interrupted by a popcorn packet again!
There’s a huge amount of apps and games available, with Mango fronting the fashion corner, YouTube taking it social and Guitar Hero fighting strong for games. Apple have some huge brands involved and whilst you’re using this on your TV…it’s still fantastic, the graphics, the usability and everything in-between…they’re all quintessentially Apple.
Prices start from £129.00 and it’s available right over here - this is perfect for the tech-lover in your life and really will make a fantastic gift…I bet they even get you on Just Dance on Boxing Day!
As you guys will know from my social media activity, I’ve been well and truly sunning up a storm on the beautiful island of Mallorca. Before I headed away, the lovely folks from Marks & Spencer reached out and offered to send me a pair of David Gandy’s hugely popular swim shorts he designed for M&S’s in-house brand, Autograph.Read More
