I don't know about you guys, but this year seems to have flown by! It feels like just a few months ago that I took my first holiday of the year, and now we’re in autumn and the chilly, darker days are here to stay!Read More
I was on the look out for a cool location to shoot for my Hyundai IONIQ blog post, which is coming very soon, when I found an abandoned RAF base not too far from my house. The chipped runway remains, now surrounded by fields and was once home to the Lancaster Bomber in World War II.Read More
Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of the year. I love the run up, buying and wrapping the presents and treating people to cool presents.
When John Lewis got in touch to ask me if I wanted to treat a fellow blogger to some presents this Christmas, I jumped at the opportunity! I got paired up with the very lovely Becky, creator of English Mum, a blog full of travel, life hacks and recipes…if you’ve never checked out her work you definitely should!
John Lewis asked me to surprise Becky with some things I thought she might like - after a good bit of reading through her blog, I thought Becky seemed to like class, quality and convenience, things to make travelling a little bit easier. I am a big fan of a wash bag, so thought I would put together a wash bag full of goodies for Becky to get her hands on.
First up I gifted Becky a super chic wash bag to store all her lotions and potions in when she’s travelling. This white and rose gold Ted Baker bag jumped out at me, it’s simple but you know it’s going to be quality. I picked this up for £65 but it looks like it has now sold out, check this link to see if it comes back in stock!
When I'm on the move I am always thankful for some little travel bottles to chuck some face wash or shampoo in so I don’t have to lug massive bottles around with me. I thought Becky might like these and at £4.50 for two, I thought they were a total bargain! You can grab these here - they’re really worth it and they’re from MAC, which I believe is a pretty decent makeup brand!
If there’s one thing I know about Becky from checking her out online, it’s that she LOVES Liz Earle. It would have been wrong for me not to include something from her favourite brand in the gifts I sent her! The Winter Nourishment Gift comes with a little travel size face mask and a face cloth too, which is perfect for Becky’s travelling needs! It was only £8 so sold out almost instantly, however I would recommend the £15 Cleanse and Polish gift set that also comes with 2 Liz Earle facecloths!
I thought I’d get Becky some more mini products that would be perfect for her upcoming trip to The States, NUXE’s ‘The Essentials’ travel kit has all of their favourite products in a little travel bag. At £13.50 this little kit offers fantastic value for money - you can check this out here.
Girls love a festive nail, don’t they? As we now know, Becky loves Liz Earle, this ‘Pure Poetry’ red colour is a great buy at £8.50 and will add a bit of festivity to her look this December. You can check out the rest of the colours in the range here.
I hope Becky loves the Christmas picks I sent her. You might have missed Christmas but John Lewis have an epic sale on at the moment, don’t miss out - shop the sale here!
If there’s one thing I love about this time of year, it’s that it is acceptable to wear an ugly Christmas sweater every day of the week. I have probably too many to count and they range from the alpine knit to the holycoveredinhowmanysnowmen?! You can imaging how keen I was to work with BoohooMAN when they recently got in touch and asked if they could send me my very own Boohoo festive knit!
I got to pick from their pretty extensive collection and simply had to go for an all-time classic the ‘Merry Christmas ya filthy animal’ knit.
If you don’t know why that line is so iconic then you either missed out on a chunk of childhood, or you’re in your childhood now, which is pretty depressing.
Every Christmas day we all don our best festive knits and compete for the crown, I must say I am feeling preeeeetty confident in my choice this year, the Home Alone classic has got to be a winner, right?
I am really impressed with my BoohooMAN Christmas sweater, it’s pretty well made and isn't too heavy either, sometimes it can feel like you’re wearing a whole duvet when you’re in a thick knit. The prices are great too, ranging from around £8 to the higher end which is still only £10 more. They offer a huge range, from the classy alpine style, to comedic knits, too…it’s amazing the puns you can create with some wool and knitting needles!
Unfortunately the jumper I got is now out of stock, however for you Potterheads, they stock a quirky ‘Merry Christmas ya filthy muggle’ variant which I'm sure is just as popular, you can pick this up for just a tenner here, or browse the full collection of jumpers here.
What ugly knit will you be rocking this Holiday Season? Let me know in the comments below!
It’s time for the third and final outfit from my #THREE campaign with Topman, we launched this a few weeks back to celebrate a crazy, amazing, inspiring and awesome three years of this very blog! We wanted to go out on a dapper note and this three-piece certainly hits all the right trends.
I love a three-piece suit, it’s always something when I was younger I never thought suited me, I found myself a bit too lanky and tall for them, but I think after those awkward teenage years, I have grown into my height and I am finally venturing into new style territory. You won’t find many suits on my blog, there are loads of great bloggers out there that do dapper great and do it often, but over here you’ll find me more actual and highstreet, Tom Ford is great but let’s be achievable!
I love this light blue wool-rich suit from Topman, it’s got a nice thick quality to it, so those horrible creases you pick up throughout a day in the office are pretty much non-existent. Wool-rich suits are great for late autumn, headed into winter as they definitely add a bit of warmth to your suit, especially if you go for that extra layer and add a waistcoat!
The fine lines and detailing on the suit are so nice, I am usually a black suit kind of guy, I don’t often venture too far when it comes to suits but when putting this campaign together with the guys over at Topman, we decided to try something new and I have to say, this is now my absolute go-to suit!
I also decided to try a different fit, usually, I opt for a slim fit suit, nothing too tight but nothing too loose (loose fitting looks so weird on me). This time, I picked an ultra-skinny fit suit and I am a big fan of the fit, the only annoying thing is it rides up my legs when I sit down and gets all bunched up on my legs when I go to stand up, but all in all it’s a really comfortable suit, it’s such a good price too, especially got the quality you get! It’s a great suit for dressing up or down depending on the occasion.
I always think you can’t go wrong with a white shirt, no matter the colour of the suit, if you’ve got a white shirt then you’re set. This white stretch-skinny shirt is such a nice fit, but it isn't too tight and will definitely stretch with you as you over-indulge at a festive dinner party! Topman has a great selection of white shirts so if a skinny fit isn't for you, click here and have a browse of their other white shirts!
I paired the suit with some snake-effect leather shoes, light blue/grey suits are great because you can wear brown or black shoes with them, some people don’t like black and grey together but I think it works really well. These are actually on sale at the minute and are currently the comfiest smart shoes I own, the genuine leather is so soft and they’ve got an even softer leather lining inside too - again these aren't something I would usually opt for but I am wearing them all the time, I think they look great with this suit as a finishing piece.
As it was chilly, I also chucked on my wool mix longline bomber that I featured in my last post, it's perfect for keeping warm on a cold day, check it out here!
